Eating Oranges

We really enjoy the great abundance of inexpensive fresh fruits and vegetables here in Peru. Elizabeth has grown up eating these things and probably eats more vegetables than a normal child. However she has her own unique list of names for foods:
  • Asparagus is called "Spider Man Fingers"
  • Carrots are called "Rounders" (cut in slices of course)
  • Brocolli is of course "Trees"
  • Zucchini is known as "Barbie Pickles"

Today, she was enjoying an apple while dad ate a mandarin orange. She wanted to try a piece. She immediately wrinkled up her face and refused to finish the tiny bite. She said "Yuk! I like the taste but it is to hairy!" Interesting thing is, mom hates any citrus fruit because of the texture. Funny how things like that can be inherited.
