Can you tell it was a windy day?

In Yorktown we earned our "Junior Ranger" badges and learned that this is not a canon, its actually a mortar.

We learned a lot while visiting Yorktown. Here we found a cannon ball still stuck in this wall!

Look the spring chickens are ready to hatch! (Click for a larger view)

The ferry to the mission conference!

When we visited Community Baptist Church in Surry, VA we had to take the ferry across the river everyday! We loved doing it. In one week we rode the ferry 17 times!

We got locked in the stocks at Williamsburg. I wonder how many people have had their picture made here?

Here's Olivia in Williamsburg, Virginia.

On the Road...AGAIN

This year we will travel about 30,000 miles! Here we are dressed and ready for church. (as usual!) The white van has been our second home.

Happy Birthday Elizabeth!

Guess who turned 10?

Happy Birthday Elizabeth!

Time to blow out the candles on my "brownie cake."

We went outside for a game time. We even played games from Peru!

Here's the entire gang after the "newspaper" fashion show!

They had a "crazy hair" contest.

Elizabeth with her friends enjoying pizza!

Winter Beach Trip!

We enjoyed a last minute trip to the beach for a winter break! It was warm enough that we got to enjoy going on the beach, looking for shells and watching birds. We also went to several lighthouses and enjoyed the aquarium. We had a great time!

We're ready to fly!

Here we are taking a break after visiting the marsh.

Yep, that's my boat, the "Elizabeth II" in the distance.

"That's one shark we never want to see!"

Shhhhh! Don't tell anyone, but this is a fancy outhouse!

This is where the first flight of an airplane took place.

Here we are ready to fly!

Here we are after climbing to the top of the hill to see the Wright Brother's Memorial.

Let's Go to the Circus!

Who's the real clown in this picture?

We got to go to the "Greatest Show on Earth!"

I guess this makes us typical American kids, we love McDonalds! (Mom and Dad aren't so thrilled with the idea.)

Special School Days

Here we are on "Character Day." Care to guess who we were supposed to be?

Here we are on "pijama day" at school. We have matching pijamas! (How come I doubt we'll want to match when we're in High School!?!)

Here the girls are dressed for "career day" at school. Olivia said she wants to be a "Girl cowboy" and Elizabeth wanted to dress up like a teacher. (By the way, Olivia has already changed her mind, she now wants to grow up to be a princess!)

Start of 2011!

We've had a great start to 2011. We have been a lot of places and have seen many things already. Hope you enjoy our update of our latest travels!

Manassas

The girls earned their 15th Junior Ranger Badge at Manassas National Battlefield Park in Manassas, VA. (We're good southerners, we have to teach them about their southern heritage!) They were most excited to get "Civil War Silly Bandz" in the gift shop. I can't say I had ever seen a Robert E. Lee SillyBandz.

The girls loved seeing the cannon demonstration. They weren't thrilled with the enormous "BOOM!"

Can you tell it was cold that day?

Our trip to Washington, DC

We had a great four day trip to Washington. We were able to visit lots of museums, historic buildings, and monuments. We were able to see the original charter documents at the National Archives. We walked around Capitol Hill and the entire National Mall. Elizabeth says she liked seeing "The original Star Spangled Banner and riding the Metro." Olivia like seeing "Dorothy's shoes from the Wizard of Oz!"

We got to visit the White House, although Obama didn't want to let us in the house!

We got to see a piece of the Berlin Wall.

Dinosaurs at the Natural History Museum.

The girls were excited to see the "First Barbie."

At the American History Museum the girls got to see Kermit and his friends!

Elizabeth on Capitol Hill

Future leaders of the Free World?

Who needs the Metro or a taxi when you've got...Paw Paw!

I told the girls I was taking these pictures of the White House, because someday they could be the president!
